Four decades of packaging and supply chain work — rooted in Flint, Michigan, and driven by a simple mission: bless people.
It's the test we apply to every decision — how we serve customers, how we invest in our team, and how we show up in our community.
Forty years in, it's still the reason we do what we do. Everything else — the equipment, the divisions, the growth — exists in service of that idea.
From a single-focus packaging shop in Flint to a two-division operation serving the automotive and industrial corridor — here's how NorthGate grew.
Founded by Jack Goggins in Flint, Michigan — a single-focus packaging shop built on a simple promise: do the work right, and treat people right.
Introduced to a large OE automotive company to package sheet-metal service parts — doors, hoods, fenders, and more.

A sheet plant featuring a large-format 86" cylinder die-cutter — focused on automotive and industrial customers who need bigger, more complex packaging solutions than anyone else in the region can run.

NorthGate operates from multiple buildings across the region — JackPack, our North Star facility, and Supply Chain Services. Two specialized divisions, one shared promise: do the work right, and treat people right.

Four standards we hold ourselves to — with customers, with partners, and with each other, every single day.
We treat everyone — teammates, customers, suppliers — with dignity. No exceptions, no off-days.
If we said we'd do it, it's done. On time, on spec, no surprises. Dependability is the foundation of every relationship we build.
We sweat the details — box spec, delivery window, customer handoff. Every job is a reflection of who we are.
Nobody does this alone. We jump in, cover each other, and share credit. The line doesn't care whose shift it is.
